September turned, her face pointed towards the earth, shutting her eyes to try and regain focus. The hushing had calmed her somewhat; though for some reason, she couldn't abide by it. Her eyes reopened and her injured eye had become flushed in red. Mucus oozed from the sides, even though September could hardly feel it. Silence overcame her before releasing a soft snarl. "Pesky little things. They can never bring one peace, now can they?" she questioned, not looking up towards Vash. Her injuries looked worse than it actually was; and she didn't need another reason for him to worry.
Kind soul you are, Vash.

To late, Vash had caught sight of her eyes. He was infuriated at the sight of it. How could two-legs hurt someone so beautiful like that? Trembling ever so slightly, he leaned down. Giving a small lick to her snout, he muttered. "Stand up, and let me get you to somewhere safe." His voice was shaky, showing he had obviously seen her newest injury.
He stood still beside her, waiting for her to get up. The chances of either of them getting shot and being killed were higher than ever. "You're to stay infront of me, that way, if they try to shoot at us again, I'll attempt to take the bullet so you don't get hurt anymore than you already are." More words wanted to leave his lips, yet he couldn't force himself to say it. Atleast not yet. "Do not attempt to make me change my mind..You're the only thing I'm going to try to keep safe now, whether you want me to or not." [/color]

Stumbling over tree roots that jutted out of the forest floor, tripping over rotten logs was a little white female. Blotches of brown mud clung to her fur making her look dusty. Crimson red blood dripped from her jowls. Between her sharp, blood stained canines was a small possum. She had killed the thing and earned a few scratches and tears on her lips and muzzle just to show her foster mom. Her nose quivered trying desperately to sniff out September. Then she caught her scent. Along with two more. Her paws stopped. Fear rose in her chest as she stared forward. Humans. She immediately dropped the possum in front of her paws. Their scent hung over the air, they were somewhere close.
Ashina stood still, her eyes scanning everything trying to find the humans. The killers. Thoughts of her family's death clogged her mind. Her blue optics became hazy with tears. Her eyes landed on her mother. She was wounded. Without thinking she raced forward toward her. "MOM!" she scram out, terror and worry constricted each word. Bullets blazed past Ashina as she ran toward September. Missing her by inches. Her legs trembled with fear as she looked up at her mom what if she died too? "I don't want them to take you too."

September smirked as she closed her eyes, standing, her injured thigh beginning to lightly swell. It wasn't her main injury, though, for her eye was of much greater importance. Her maw parted to disagree with his plan, though she refused, laughing softly before nuzzling him on the mug. "So stubborn," she said, though she hoped he knew she was kidding. "But quite kind. You know, you are probably the only brute in the world who would do this for me. But please. You musn't strain yourself just for me."

Axel heard September... she had given up? Fight or run... and she had picked run. Not something he expected from her True, a born Lenetta always fought to the death. Perhaps it just wasn't the same here.
The humans now were shooting at the other two, and kicking at him. As the men yelled out, he found pain going along his back leg, as he landed awkwardly on a foot flying at him. It was twisted, but he attempted to hold them off...
He turned to see another shape make their way over to the pair. She would help them... he smiled, and edged closer to the three shapes. "Run away... don't stop for a heartbeat if you want to live..." he ducked and moved as a bullet was coming for him. His dark eyes showed no emotion, but his voice showed a bit of panic... but that was understandable. "I'll hold them off, and I want you to be far away when I run... or not run." he said.
The ebony shape ran back toward the crowd of hunters, runiing and weaving through them, jumping at some to make them miss the wolven trying to escape.

Vashs head snapped towards Axel, amazingly he was able to supress a small smile. 'I'm going to have to repay that brute someday.' Then his attention snapped back towards the two femmes before him. A pup, who he will have to guess is Ashina, and an injured September. He moved forward a bit, then lowered his head, gripping Ashina by the scruff. "I have my reasons for doing what I do for you, September." He said, though it was muffled by Ashinas fur.
"Now, can you take Ashina?" He would rather not have th pup in his jowls if he planned on running behind September, attempting to keep her out of harms way. He wouldn't be able to live if he knew he was responsible for the injuries Ashina could get while in his jowls.

September snorted as her head lifted high, turning to notice Axel. She shook her crown with dark eyes, knowing that he couldn't stay and fight without getting hurt. Perhaps, even, killed. Muscles tensed as she turned, stepping towards the gathering of humans around wolves, ready to help defend the land she so loved. And apart of that great land /was/ indeed its faithful members. They would not fall alone. But her nasal flared as she caught a familiar scent; a sweet aroma tickling the air around them. September closed her eyes, hoping to God that her senses were misleading her. It couldn't be her, could it? No. It couldn't. But then she saw her daughter and she dropped her mug, giving her a quick nuzzle. She wasn't sure if she should be enraged or thankful that she had came and managed not to get hurt. Eh, suppose its a bit of both. "Ashina... darling, you will not. Ever." Her crown lifted and her expression was solemn, staring down at the pup. "You shouldn't have come. This isn't a place for you."
Her eyes followed Ashina towards Vash, smirking, not answering at first before trotting off a bit. She snarled, cold lips quivering to let the shriek echo. It was a warning towards Axel; a demand. "M'lord. Save yourself. Come with us, and do not fight back. We are far too outnumbered, and to stay would be foolish." Usually, she would be with Axel fighting against the monsters, though here she was... telling him to retreat. Indeed was it foolish to fight, for victory was impossible. He would only kill himself in the act. And if she were to stay, she would too.
Besides. She had made a promise to Ashina to be her mother; and what kind of mother would ever let her daughter down?

Tail flicked with slight annoyance, but other than that, Vash seemed to remain calm. He set Ashina on the ground again, before he simply let his rump smack the ground. Ah, yes, Set your rump on the ground when you have hunters behind you, ready to kill the only four wolves in the area. "You know, if you want to keep Ashina safe, I'd say take her in your jowls, and get running. I'll make sure your friend Axel is alright."

Wanting to snap back at that Vash fellow, he fell back on his leg. Help him? Oh, no... Axel was much too vain to accept help from one such as him. He bit into the leg of a human, and a few of them started to swing their firesticks at him, trying to get him off of their companion. But Axel would not budge... as long as he had the Hunters' attention, he'd stay on... if not, well, he'd need another plan.
He heard September's growl. Dissappointed, as this was not the same cold-blooded September he remembered. The toughest enemy is one who has nothing to lose, and looking at the pup, he guessed she had a full family... a lot that can be taken away from you.
At the same time, he grinned, for the spell set by her on him was broken. He'd fallen in love with her innate ability to make him nervous and alert, and instead, she was now as soft as the other females.
Snapping back to reality, he realized his back was acquiring quite a few bruises, and the other hunters were starting to follow the threesome. He jumped off, and tackled the leading man from the back. This halted their assault on Septemebr, Vash, and Ashina.
For a while, at least...
